ONE TO ONE CLINIC
Yoga Therapy uses postures, breathing, relaxation, and meditation to bring about improved health and well-being for the mobile and less-able for a range of health issues regardless of age or experience.
If you are in good health you may want assistance in just improving your own Yoga practice or how it can enhance your well-being such as in healthy ageing.
At Yoga Therapy Hull we can work with many common medical conditions and with recovery such as from surgery, for example:
Neurological conditions - brain injury, Parkinson’s, stroke, and MS
Chronic pain - back pain, fibromyalgia, migraine, arthritis, endometriosis, IBS, and chronic fatigue
Mental wellbeing - depression, anxiety, and insomnia
Support for and recovery from illness - cancer, and heart disease
Postural issues and joint problems
One-to-one tuition works at your own pace with a devised programme after an initial assessment, preferably booked in a block of sessions, that is tailored exclusively to your own health needs and goals with the aim of improving and working with flexibility, mobility, strength, balance, mindful focus, breathing, and energy levels.
Before attending your first session, you will be asked to complete and return a medical consent and release form as well as agree to a set of terms and conditions. We will also briefly chat on your main aims.
You will be supplied a practice sheet to work from after each session.
Initial assessment at £40 for 90 minutes
Individual session £35 for 75 minutes
Special block price at £150 for 5 sessions (60 minutes each)
*Though being present in person for Yoga Therapy is preferable, we can also offer Skype (free to download) or Facetime one-to-ones. All you need is a good internet connection, an iPad, laptop, or computer and with a functioning microphone and camera. You will need a Yoga Mat; however, other Yoga equipment such as Blocks, a Strap, and Bolster maybe required but these can be improvised with regular household items.
* If a cancellation is necessary, please give 24 hours notice or a full session will be charged. Block package classes are non-refundable.
* If you are already receiving conventional medical treatment it is advisable to inform your General Practitioner that you are undertaking Yoga Therapy sessions. The work of a holistic complementary health practitioner is not a substitute for treatment by medical care professionals.
The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health Jane Ellison MP, speaking in the House of Commons on 3 November 2015 stated: “Both the Government and the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) recommend that when a patient or service user chooses to visit a health or care practitioner who is unregulated, only those on an accredited register are consulted.” Therefore, under the General Medical Council’s guidance to doctors, they can refer patients to practitioners on the CNHC accredited register.
