Yoga Ayurveda Retreat Day: Manage Stress; Achieve Better Sleep

Using the holistic sister sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga, this day will be spent exploring practical and hands-on exercises to address the modern day conditions of stress, anxiety, and poor sleep. This event is jointly hosted with Vanessa Long of Ayurveda Mama (www.ayurvedamama.co.uk)

SCHEDULE:

10.00 – Arrivals, greetings, refreshments, and Ayurveda snacks.
10.30 - Yoga practice: Pacifying slow and grounding practice to work with ‘letting go.'
11.30 - What is Ayurveda? Discovering your own unique body-mind type. What imbalances us? Ayurvedic daily routines, lifestyle and dietary advice.
13.00 - Seasonal Ayurvedic lunch.
13.45 - “Me time." An opportunity to enjoy the beautiful rooms of the Hall, quiet time with a book, or a self-guided walk in the Hall's parklands and gardens.
14.30 - Practical hands-on ways to reduce stress, anxiety, and insomnia using Ayurveda: Learning about Abhyanga massage and aromas that will be of help as well as looking at Manas (the mind).
15.30 - Afternoon drinks and Ayurvedic snacks.
15.50 - Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra – this practice will offer guidelines on how to achieve better sleep by looking at an embodied approach that balances the body and quiets the mind finishing with a guided Yoga Nidra relaxation.
17.00 - Plenary - questions, departures and goodbyes.

Introduction to Ayurveda and Yoga: Honour Your Nature and the Seasons

What are your intentions for 2019? Do you feel nourished, nurtured, and happy in your life? Do you want to start the year as you mean to go on by learning to live, eat, and move consciously in a more balanced, and healthy way, which honours the winter season and your own unique nature? If so, then come and join us for this specially themed introductory workshop which combines the wisdom of the sister sciences, Ayurveda and Yoga.
This workshop will be a mixture of hands on learning, intention setting, practical advice, take-away practices/recipes, individual/group work, meditation, journaling, relaxing Yoga Nidra and the energising practice of Yoga. Following this introductory workshop, we will be hosting events in line with each season.
This event is jointly hosted with Vanessa Long of Ayurveda Mama. The total cost is £35 including refreshments. Places cannot be secured unless full payment is given. Spaces are limited to 15 people.

Free Tinnitus Information Day

We are delighted as a registered Yoga Therapist to be part of the Tinnitus Information Day. This event is free of charge for the general public. Free refreshments and a light sandwich lunch are provided! Experts will be giving talks about:
* Basic facts on tinnitus
* The impact of tinnitus
* Audiological and medical treatments available
* Psychological approaches to managing tinnitus
To draw attention to the therapy choices for tinnitus, we will be offering two stress management tasters and will be exhibiting with a stall to provide advice and information.

(Hygge - noun: pronounced HOO-GAH) The quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of well-being. Think of the simple pleasures in life: cosy blankets, candles, crackling real wood fires, luxury hot chocolate, warming fondue and invigorating crisp fresh countryside walks through 17 acres of stunning parkland and manicured gardens surrounding the elegantly restored Georgian Grade II listed, Saltmarshe Hall and Gardens in East Yorkshire.

The event is jointly hosted by Bridget Jacques of Perfect Posture Pilates and Tristessa Moore of YoYogaSoul. We both bring our experiences of Yoga, Pilates, Yoga Therapy, Alexander Technique, Mindfulness, coaching, and education to bring an refreshing approach to well-being, health and fitness to make you feel relaxed, de-stressed and re-aligned.

The Retreat is suitable for anyone regardless of age, ability or experience. The total cost is £90 and is inclusive of all food, drinks, classes, workshops and activities

Itinerary (please note, that nothing is compulsory except that you enjoy yourself). We reserve the right to change the activities and times:

10.30 – Breakfast, and outline of the day’s schedule

11.00 - Choice of Yoga or Pilates class

12.00 - YOUR TIME Opportunity to enjoy the beautiful rooms of the Hall, a hot chocolate, quiet time with a book by roaring log fire, or a self-guided walk with a supplied map in the Hall's parklands and gardens

13.15 – Seasonal two course lunch

14.30 - 16.30 – Pre-Booked Take Away Skills Workshops for Everyday Mind and Body Maintenance (each 25 minute session will be on concurrently and will be repeated so there is an opportunity to attend both 1 and 2 by each Retreat Leader)

16.30 - Afternoon tea followed by questions, evaluations, departures and goodbyes
